Kingdom Hearts Formation Arts Vol. 3

Last month, Bandai released another series of the beautifully crafted vinyl figures, featuring Queen Minnie, Jack the Sparrow, Sora and 3 other characters.

Pictures can be seen here: www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-Formation-Art-Vol/dp/B001JEI1UM

Since they seem to be making SOOOOOOOOOOOO much money with these things, they also started releasing formation arts figures for Alice in Wonderland, Pixar and Peter Pan.

Pictures will be available as I find them.

Summerlicious - 5th Element

  • Jun. 19th, 2007 at 10:41 AM
crazy
After randomly picking out of a hat (based on Karen's recommendations), it's decided that our first choice is 5th Element and second choice is Fred's Not Here.

Now we shall decide on a day. Which day would everyone prefer? If we can't get a specific day, which day of the week would everyone prefer? Remember that Summerlicious goes from July 6 - 22. I don't have any specific preference. If no one has any preferences, then I would assume that a weekday would be less busy. Also decide whether you're in or not. Once you're in, we would appreciate it if you don't back out once the reservation is made.

Please decide by t/m.

Summerlicious Group Dinner

  • Jun. 15th, 2007 at 11:25 AM
crazy
It seems like Summerlicious is mostly for smaller parties of 2 - 4 because the menus that most of the restaurant listed are quite small. I did manage to find some that offers a larger menu to suit our group (probably 6+).

This is a list of suggestions only. If anyone have any preferences, feel free to post about it. Here goes:

5th Element - $25
Across The Road - $35
Cafe Moroc - $25
Cfood - $25
Corner House Restaurant - $35
Da Gianni E Maria Trattoria - $25
Eggplant the Restaurant - $25
Fred's Not Here - $25
La Bruschetta - $25
Miatignon Restaurant - $25
Mildred Pierce Restaurant - $35
Myth - $25
Quince - $25
Richlee's Restaurant - $35
Sopra Upper Lounge - $35
Southern Accent - $25
Strada Restaurant - $25
Trapper's Restaurant - $35
Zucca Trattoria - $35

Remember that the price listed are only for the meal, drinks, taxes and gratuities are extra.

Check out the menu at http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/se/restaurants.nsf/summerlicious?OpenForm to see the menus.

If we do go through with a group dinner, we should decide on a restaurant and a date soon since the reservations start at June 21st.

P.S. Does anyone have an American Express card? AMEX cardholders can jump the line and start making reservations on the 19th.

Sale at Fabricland

crazy
My fellow cosplay buddies, Fabricland is having a 40 - 50% sale on almost everything in the store. The sale ends on the 22th and if you can't get to one in time, I can help you pick up a few items. You'll have to leave you request by Friday night cuz I'm most likely going to go on Saturday.

Another thing: I was told that the Fila store on Queen St. W. (near University Ave.) is having an 80% sale on everything in the store (off the last ticketed price I believe). You shouldn't miss out on this!

I just reserved a table for the Nominoichi (AKA Japanese flea market) to sell misc anime, manga, video game, cartoon related items at Anime North. You can sell off any of your new or old anime merchandise. If you want to sell your stuff, just msg me and let me know and I'll fill you in for more details.

You know you need to get rid of your old stuff to make room for new ones you know. :D

*If you need more info about the type of stuff you can sell.. check the AN website for more details.

Happy Birthday!

Today is a very special day where we celebrate the Hawaiian Flag Day, the birthday of Harry Potter (the boy who lived), and the birthday of a good friend. Wish [info]konecchiwa A very happy birthday.  May everything this year is better than the last.

Welcome to the twenties.  You're no longer a teenager.

Reunion or AN?

  • Jul. 31st, 2006 at 2:00 PM
crazy
I just realized today that the Jarvis Bicentennial Reunion is happening on May 25 - 27, which is at the same time as Anime North 07.  Considering that the reunion happens once and the con come back every year,  it is very likely that I might not go the con next year.  However, we'll have to wait and see how everything plays out.
If that indeed is that case, then I HAVE TO finish my costumes for CNA FanEXPO this year.

Yes, that right.  Costumes.  To cosplay Kakurenbo again, I have to make a new top.  On the original, the dye from the red fabric added pink washes to the white part.  It is unwearable unless I somehow manage to bleach the pink out.  I do want to cosplay Kakurenbo again, since it was so much fun.  At least I have experience on making the top this time around.

Another note on the side, I'm going to be out of town from Aug 6 - 19.  It will be two weeks of merciless torture by the cruel UofT civil department, where we give up two weeks of precious VACATION time for survey camp.  Survery camp  =  wake up early, attend classes, work outdoors, do homework, write midterm, get sting by bugs and thorns, get sunburned, miss dinner, write final exam, etc.

additional note: I WANT MY RICE CAKES!!!  (You know who you are.)
